Missions

A Message from Our Pastor

Missions outreach is not just something we do - it is the heartbeat of our church! Currently, we support 85 missionary projects around the world with a missions budget of over $279,000.

We recently helped one of our own missionary families in Brazil purchase a new building. In one Sunday, God allowed our church family to give almost $40,000 towards this project. We praise God for the tender hearts of our people towards missions.

Our church is totally committed to helping build bridges around the world to reach those who are lost and without Jesus Christ. Jesus came into the world to save sinners (I Timothy 1:15).

Missions is God's heartbeat - Our heartbeat!

UPDATED JULY 2010

Dear Friends and Fellow Laborers,

Summer is here and it sure felt like it in the south! For the month of June, we were in the hot and humid states of Alabama , Louisiana and Mississippi . Praise Jesus for sweet tea and a/c!!

Speaking of praising Jesus, this past month through the preaching and propagating of the Gospel, we witnessed several salvation decisions. Remember in last month’s letter the 22 year old young man Joseph that got saved? Well, the very next Wednesday night Missy had the opportunity to talk with his wife Jennifer about Jesus and she too trusted Christ! On a Sunday morning, while at Bible Baptist Church with Pastor John Smith in Petal, Mississippi, a lady named Debbie (pictured) came forward during the invitation and she got saved! To God be the glory!!

One of the many great lessons that God has taught on deputation is that He uses adversity to fulfill His will. For instance, on Father’s Day weekend both Briton and Bella caught a bad stomach virus. It was so severe that we had to actually cancel a church for the very first time on deputation because the kids could not travel. Richie decided to visit another Independent Baptist Church nearby that Sunday. After the services, God burdened Richie’s heart to talk with some young men about the Lord. One of them had been recently saved and brought his two friends with him to church that day. After showing the other two how they could know that they were saved, Corey, a 20 year old, prayed to receive Christ as his Savior! Even in adversity, God gets the glory!

One other wonderful blessing to share, during a Mission ’s Conference at New Life Baptist Church with Pastor Terry Frye in Madison , Mississippi , we were so excited to see the Grapplin Family (pictured) come forward and surrender their life to serve the Lord! Pray for Mike and his family as they seek the Lord’s leading.

Prayer Needs: Though it’s not spelled the same, people often associate our name with the Oreck vacuum. So this month, every time you vacuum please pray for the Orrick’s. We want to continue to “clean up” for Jesus! Please pray that our yard sale goes well as we look ahead to our move.

Serving Our Savior Together,

Richie, Missy, Briton and Isabella Orrick
